This is Roger Tinker, owner and general Manager of All Star Pest Control in Columbus, GA. I am
going to discuss something that involves no chemical treatment to help prevent pest in your home.
Pest are always looking for ways to enter you home. Roaches, ants, spiders and mice are just a few
of pest that crawl in though any means possible.
Do pest crawl under your windows because your windows are not sealed properly. Do you know if all
your windows seal properly. Also, think of the increase in your utilities bill if the windows are not
sealed.
Is your weather stripping in good condition or is torn in places. Have you checked it? Again, how
about those utilities bill. A pest control company can apply pesticide to these areas or use a bait for
the mice every month and probably stop these pest. Why would you want to do that when you could
just fix the weather stripping and caulk the areas that have holes or gaps in them and eliminate the
entry point for the pest.
Everybody looks at the bottom of the windows, but many people forget to check the seals and or
weather stripping at the top of the windows.
This can be simple. Look at the windows and then figure out how to get in and then fix that. This will
go a long ways to help prevent pest in your home.
I am not a construction expert, nor do I do home repairs, but I have seen the things I discussed above
make a big difference in the pest population in homes.
