This is Roger Tinker, Owner and General manager of All Star Pest Control in Columbus, GA. I
remember moving to Columbus Ga in 1984 from Macon, GA. It did not take me long to discover
Cooper Creek Park located on Milgen Rd. I also remember when the Warm Springs Rd, Connector
was built that runs into Cooper Creek Park.
Just driving thru the park is so relaxing because it seems like you leave the fast pace of the world
behind you. I have seen just a few tennis courts increase to what I am told is about 30 or more courts.
Over the years, there have been Birthday Partys and other picnics that my family and I have attended
there.
I have taken my boys to feed the ducks almost every week end when they were young. I have also
taken my grand children to feed the ducks as well. When the city made it against the law to feed
ducks bread I went to BW Capps and brought water fowl food in 40 pound bags to feed the ducks.
One year All Star Pest Control had a BBQ there for our employees, their families as well as some
friends that were invited on the 4th of July.
Other activities include taking our children and grand children to play on the play ground equipment
located in several areas of the park. This is a great way to get children to inter act with other children.
This works for adults too.
The walking trails are a great way to exercise and lose that extra 5 pounds that I seem to put on
every year after Thanksgiving.
I do see people fishing down by the dam, although I have not fished there myself.
My people take their dogs and walk though the park with them.
Cooper Creek is across from my office and that is a great place to walk to and just clear my head
sometimes when I need a break from the stress of running my business.
I could not imagine Columbus without Cooper Creek park.
