This is Roger Tinker, owner and general manager of all star pest control in Columbus, Georgia. Today, we’re talking about how to get rid of bedbugs. First, bedbugs are small parasitic insects that feed on the blood of humans and other animals. They are typically found in mattresses, bedding and other furniture and they can be difficult to get rid of. If you think you have bedbugs, it’s important to take action quickly to prevent them from spreading. There are a number of ways that you can try to get rid of bedbugs, one heat treatment, this is one of the most effective ways to kill bed bugs and their eggs. A professional heat treatment company will raise the temperature in your home to a level that is lethal to bedbugs, which is usually about 125 degrees, but safer humans and pets. chemical treatment a professional pest control company can also use chemical treatments to kill bedbugs. These trip treatments are typically applied to areas where bedbugs are known to congregate such as Max’s bedding and furniture. It is to be noted here that some of the chemicals do not kill the bedbug eggs. Here are some additional tips for getting rid of bedbugs. The first thing you need to do before you even try to treat is identify the source of infestation. Now the word Where did that come one come from who brought them in? Once you know where the bedbugs are coming from, you can take steps to eliminate them. I can’t emphasize enough did you stay in a hotel? Did you go to a nursing home where there was possibly bedbugs. There are many things but the first thing you need to do is do some real hard investigation. Because if you do a complete treatment, and then you turn around and bring bedbugs back in, you got to do it all over again. Clean and Declutter Your Home. Bedbugs like to hide in clutter so it’s important to clean and declutter your home as much as possible. In fact, you really can’t treat a home until it is decluttered. Inspect your bedding and furniture regular look for signs of bedbugs such as lab bugs, eggs or fecal spots aren’t so one of the things that you’re looking for in your bedding is blood spots on the bed. Because a lot of times when you get bit by the bedbugs you don’t know you’ve been bit because generally you don’t feel them. But the little droplets of blood on the bed is a very good giveaway that there’s bedbugs there. Wash your bedding and clothes and hot water. And again, put them in the dryer. I recommend 45 minutes on high heat. Because not only do you want to kill the bedbugs, but you want to kill the egg that can frequently that can can help remove bedbugs in the egg from your home. Using encasements for mattresses and box springs encasements can help prevent bed bugs from getting into your mattress and box springs.
