This is Roger Tinker, owner and general manager of All Star Pest Control in Columbus, Georgia. I would like to discuss what water bugs are and clear up some confusion about water bugs. There are several cockroaches are often referred to as water bugs. The American cockroaches live outside and will come into the home in search of water when it has not rained outside for a while. This cockroach will also try to come inside your home to escape a lot of rain. The American cockroach will range from about one and a half inches long to over two inches long and is reddish brown in color. So some people call the American cockroach award a bug to the Oriental cockroach lives in sewers and other damp places and is also called a waterbug by some people. This cockroach is about an inch long is it is dark brown, or black in color. The German cockroaches and most common cockroaches found in the home and they are generally found in kitchen cabinets and in batting cabinets. The German cockroach is about 587 inch long is light brown to tan with two black stripes on their head. People out so called the German cockroach award a bug because I see them near the sinks in their home. Now that I have discussed what a water bug is not I will discuss what a rail water bug is. The giant waterbug micro Neerja ports like what will sell them try to come inside your home. They range from two to four inches in size or grayish dark brown and live in ponds and lakes. The giant waterbug will usually bite you if you try to pick them up. They are not top roaches.
